Gotta make sure it gets seen 🤣, I try not to do that, usually I only repost if it's a note I remember from like 2 weeks ago.
How have you been? Haven't seen any streams in a while.
Oh, might have been talking about me this time, sorry nostr:npub1r0rs5q2gk0e3dk3nlc7gnu378ec6cnlenqp8a3cjhyzu6f8k5sgs4sq9ac ,didn't realize how much I had done that today.
we could have a client that mutes that type of behavior?
There are some notes that where i find it great that im reminded of a great note, and other times its obvious its just playing engagement games in which case i totally agree is 🤮
One option for clients could be to disable users to reshare their own notes, but there will most likely be work arounds..
I don’t even notice that i get much engagement from a repost, a mention / quote post gets a LOT more on nostr. Which i like, because to quote post you’ve got to SAY something.
My guess is that the reposting yourself is a work around to the fact that most nostr clients are heavily chronological…. so good posts get lost if you don’t happen to see it in your feed and we reward people who post a lot with more attention.
I understand one repost for the opposite time zone but more than that feels spammy.
Nostr generally rewards new notes over comments because many people see a new note but not always a comment. Reposts probably don’t get as much engagement because people have already seen that note or like you said, didn’t say anything with it so there’s nothing to respond to.
Not in my experience. Most people don't see most posts. Period. I have personal tests and data that back this up. It's usually only the uber-users who notice most re-posts. And unfortunately, that's not the majority.
If we were able to disable reshares that would lower the noise for “uber” users 😆
💯 agree.
The ability in a client to tag a post (or text) telling it to not "auto-display" the note again, even in the event of a re-share would be cool, I think.
Like a "read" flag.
Yup
But more granular.
And manual, I assume.
That's how I see it. It wouldn't be a sane default.
Would require tracking the reader, if it were automatic.
And also something like automation filters for more long term solutions (text, npub etc.) with more granular control over what and how these variables display in a user feed would be a sick UX feature.
A post/repost at certain day/time feature would also a game changer...for all the non-bot business owners/artists etc. out there who want to organically increase their Nostr engagement.
Been hoping to see this on #Amethyst. nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z Any plans? What do you think?
Only Shipyard has it, so far.
Would be so nice to have it integrated.
nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft are Shipyard features going to be rolled into Highlighter or linked somehow? Cuz that would be sweet.
+1 to this
Yes, you can already schedule long-forms, videos, and reposts you can even schedule edits so an article changes in, say, 1 week.
I aciddwntaly removed the schedule button on the kind 1s, but I’m going to be bringing those back on the next release
It all happens via DVMs so what you schedule on highlighter will also be visible on Shipyard
I made reposting a DVM so other clients could easily integrate it without having to run a backend, but so far there’s been no takers other than my own clients
Is there some code I can look at for interfacing w the dvm? I'm curious why it doesn't seem to listen to my relay list and the calendar picker on highlighter was broken in FF.. (not sure bout chrome) but I'd love to do some command line dvming 😎
Noogle!
I'd like that!
The Nos app knows what posts you’ve seen, we store it locally and don’t share it. It’s used for the stories interface to make sure you don’t see repeats. We’ve got UI mockup to show you a little badge if it’s a new post or not. I suspect other apps also know this. We could use it also to prevent you seeing lots of reposts of the same content.
Split testing gives good data :)
I like the idea of a time-delayed boost. Basically just throwing up the note in the air again until it settles on the floor of someone elses feed in the future.
Perfectly fine to think your post is a banger and share it again, even if you're not adding anything. My biggest gripe however is that boosts incentivize spammy behavior are are kind of redundant as they are now. If i've seen it, chances are some of my other followers have just seen it.
I probably have done it more than once, though I was trying to figure out why 1 client wouldn’t post to my relay but anothe would so I rebroadcasted in the other client, I’m so behind on updates now it doesn’t matter I’m sure ..
nostur got this, seems to be working for me
It is a very hardline approach. How does it work with reshares? Do you see the original post? Or do you see any quotes/shares at all?
quotes and reshares are fine eg. i follow both these accounts and it popped up again when its reshared
Please repost this 3 times 😂😂😂
Different time zones around this big ol’ Earth 🌍 . I don’t personally but to each his own✌️
Because clients still didn’t condensate same ids or reference threads.
