My previous podcast was hosted on Anchor (which Spotify acquired) & YT
Is there a Nostr equivalent for hosting RSS feeds & video?
Not that I was cancelled, but the threat was always there
Ie an end-to-end uncensorable publishing product

Anchor was great. I had a very short lived podcast on Anchor and I could not believe how easy it was to publish on it. Sad to hear Spotify acquired it, even though I no longer have skin in the game.
Hosting an RSS feed on nostr relays seems like a nice fit. Not techy enough to know why it would or wouldn't make sense though đ
Totally same boat! Search will continue
Not on Nostr, therefore still some vulnerability and risk, but the guys behind this are solid. Might be worth looking into:
dropwave.io
Thanks for sharing. Will take a look. Initial scan is similar to Rumble style play
âWe wonât cancel youâ is very different to âwe canât cancel youâ
Nostr, if I donât find someone already doing it, needs a way to host content that âcanât be cancelledâ
Sending people to links on YT etc, although better than the cancel threat of Twitter, is still sub-optimal
Full agreement. Ideally we get there in time with nostr.
I havenât looked in to it much but isnât that what Fountain is supposed to do?
I need to double check but last time they were an equiv to iTunes etc
Ie you still needed to host the RSS data somewhere
Then send that to the podcast platforms
Would be great to have a place people can go to where ideas for *and other things* clients can be submitted, maybe even voted on by the community and funded. Devs who want to contribute to nostr will get an idea of what is in popular demand and can chose which projects they are interested in working on.
#plebs #plebchain #nostr #grownostr
I would use it for sure
A public voting system for what is needed first!
How techy are you? I have been building this and self-hosting my podcast from my own hardware. Be more than happy to help you get set up as well (should have a new tested release this week)
Cool! Let me check it out. Not very techy is the simple answer..
There are 2 functions :
1. Backing up all you notes, data, mp3âs and so on
2. Publishing as a RSS feed for podcasts
Re. (1): In the spirit of Nostr , that is something client software should provide, and just save all your notes and stuff on a local disk.
Once you have that, you can use the RSS feed of choice, if they cancel you or go broke, just switch to another feed.
AdamCurry@ , the inventor of podcasting, has started PodcastIndex.org , that vows to never drop a single episode from all listed podcasts. Take a look!
