No offense to anyone, but I’m temporarily unfollowing people who talk about nothing but the current war. We all know it’s happening. We might disagree on some of the specifics surrounding it, but I know we all agree that it’s a devastating human tragedy for everyone involved.

The focus is excessive even tho it’s important
But it’s like, what can we do about it here? Protesting doesn’t do anything. Arguing doesn’t do anything. There are much bigger and more powerful forces at play. I won’t allow myself to get dragged into a debate about a particular peoples’ right to exist, or what magical solution would end it if only people could see the “truth.”
Yeah those people just view this situation as a game. Complete disconnection. What we should do is preserve our humanity. If we over invest emotionally and get burned out, we will end shutting parts of our brains off in order to cope which will result in desensitizing us to the suffering of others.
I also think that we need to try to resist the ways in which these events can overshadow other shit going on. I just became aware of the mass abduction of Ukrainian children the other day and I couldn’t believe I hadn’t heard about it sooner. We need to be raising awareness for the vile shit that no one is talking about.
Because it's not abduction. Children have nothing to do where there is shooting, and if President Zelensky did not take care of their removal from such areas, leaving them as human shields for the ua-militants, someone should have done it.
If Jews weren't racist, they would have saved Palestinian children too.
Oh it definitely constitutes abduction. They’re being Russified and stripped of their Ukrainian identity because Russia is a failed state.
