The thing that excited me most about nostr was the market.
I tried to set up a nice market on lnbits several months ago, but there were too many bugs and too few people.
Can anybody recommend a NOSTR market that is actually working and supporting some level of commerce?
Wasn't reliable enough for me either. I tried them all I think and there's always something icky.
Woocommerce is still the way to go for now.
What’s the biggest issue with them currently in your eyes? What would you like to see?
They're not Reliable. Lnbits often had problems updating products. That's a deal breaker right away. It's always that kind of little but massive problems.
Zapit worked good. I think I never had problems with it. But functionality were too low. I could only add 1 image per products.
If we talk about things I'd like to see added to a reliable nostr commerce is simply something closer to woocommerce. Just copy woocommerce.
Then I need better visual customization. WordPress.
You guys need to build woocommerce and a way to build a page like WordPress.

Definitely not asking the world here! It’s actually part of what we see nostr:npub15dc33fyg3cpd9r58vlqge2hh8dy6hkkrjxkhluv2xpyfreqkmsesesyv6e developing into in the near-term. The focus atm is in making sure the infrastructure works and the experience feels complete before implementing things like page-building and custom storefronts. A lot of work to be done, but it’s getting there!
Have heard good things about plebeian market but haven’t tried it yet myself
My guess is that the crowd is still way too small for any market to work properly.
💯 Async payment settlement, trust metrics, and product delivery still need some work to be done in order to scale Nostr marketplaces.

What do you think the biggest problem nostr:npub15dc33fyg3cpd9r58vlqge2hh8dy6hkkrjxkhluv2xpyfreqkmsesesyv6e and other Nostr marketplaces have currently? What would you like to see?
I use my phone for 99.9% of my activities, when I login on Safari using an extension, it shows I have messages, but I they never load. If the messages don’t load, what else isn’t working? I loaded something for sale a while back, but it no longer shows. Idk what’s going on. It’s a good idea, but doesn’t seem to really work yet. Wish it was a dedicated app instead of a webpage.
Messages take a bit longer to load than listings since we’re querying every DM and filtering them down; definitely some performance improvements to be done there.
As for old listings not showing up under “My Listings,” that’s due to a bug that got introduced when we limited the number of listings that get rendered initially. Rn you have to scroll to the bottom and keep clicking the “load more” button until the listing comes up. nostr:npub1qxda7stfxfauufa4mkgqj2lur0jdpxlpnqhqdctwl2t6akuruw3qjdkkn0 is working on getting the fix for that out soon, though.
And I agree; a native app will eventually be in the works! We’re just focused on making the web experience feel complete before doing so, especially since we’re not full-time on nostr:npub15dc33fyg3cpd9r58vlqge2hh8dy6hkkrjxkhluv2xpyfreqkmsesesyv6e yet.

Same. It's going to bring a whole heap of wanted & unwanted attention but it's very exciting.
I think the buyers will come when key Nostr social clients enable the exploring of markets.
Sellers will be prepared to use a dedicated marketplace client but there are few potential buyers right now.
It's a bit of a catch 22.

At https://plebeian.market we built a market to nip-15 the same standard as LNBits but our engine
It works… people are using it… some are making regular sales… there’s a lot of room for improvement
We’ll be making an announcement in the coming days as to a new gear change in our approach to nostr markets
