If bitcoin has been this way for over 12 years and it's still doing fine but you are worried of a future existential threat to it you should hard fork it just like the Bcashers did in 2017 because they believed bitcoin would die if it didn't increase the size of the blocks. Some people exist by consuming fear. They spend their time reading/watching/listening to media regarding all the horrors that the future will bring. I won't say I am nothing but a total optimist because I like to be grounded but I am certainly optimistic for the future.
