exactly. to me nostr has brought new friends, meaningful and interesting conversations, all without the noise of algorithms, ads or influencer bs. we finally have a place to build a better and freer place for online discussion. nostr enables us to pave our own path free of any corporate interest. I don’t care if this is not a popular sentiment, it’s the fucking reason I’m here. All i hope is that I can find enough likeminded people to build out and grow this vision. I believe in NOSTR. What sold me?! Ability to take my data with me to the client of my choice. Freedom to say what I want and in a way I choose to. Way less noise and no adds. Lack of algorithm driving the traffic. Lots of high quality content. Early MySpace Music vibes....amd THE PEOPLE.
This is what I was telling the friend I was purple pilling yesterday! There’s an absence of noise on here. If I go on the legacy social media platforms, it’s complaints, people listing diagnoses, whining that „capitalism bad” etc.
And you won’t know Jersey just had an earthquake, but you will if you log on here.
And here, devs are building and innovating. This is the future. Let the whiners have their algorithms and The Current Thing.
