Finally getting around to trying to get my #AlbyHub + LND setup working on #Start9 again.

My current theory is LND isn’t working because #Bitcoin Core is still syncing, and that’s tying up the machine (at least that’s what it seems like in the LND logs). Once syncing is done, I think Bitcoin Core will be freed up to handle RPC. 🤞

What do you think? #asknostr

Yes, you can only open lightning channels on your node once bitcoin core is fully synced.

I actually opened a channel in block 858802 but never saw it. My machine has been off since then so I assume the answer is still the same. I won’t see the channel until the sync is complete.

Yep, just wait until it’s 100% synced 👍

Will do, thanks. 🤞

So you downloaded and started the LND service before core was finished?

On mine I waited until core was fully synced before I downloaded and started LND. Then LND took about 12 hours to sync. THEN I started and configured the alby hub.

Each one is dependent on the other. Can't skip ahead to the last one without the foundation.

When I first tried to set everything up months ago, I think both core and LND were synced. But some issue occurred when I opened the channel. My machine has been off since then. I don’t see same issue anymore so I’m hoping everything will work once core is synced up again. 🤞

I would stop LND/AlbyHub while the chain is still syncing to save some cpu/ram resources. They won't work until the chain is fully synced.

Good idea. Thanks. 🤙
