So this morning I had my whole follow list nuked. If you see an unfollow it wasn't me I am working on fixing this issue by refollowing 1 by 1. I was always backing up my npub data here https://nostrsync.live/ but seems like there is a client side issue when I try to revive everything broadcasting my backup. This isn't going pleasant for new users.

The mass follow app using the backup data could be a good fix for this situation. Appreciate the builders that work on fixing these issues.

Was thinking is there a way a client like Amethyst nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z can run an auto backup service to device for users incase something happens, all follow lists and notes are fine after a simple rebroadcast?

Your NostrSync backup file contains public keys of everyone you follow, you can copy it from your backup files and broadcast it using the Nostr profile manager.

However, expecting daily users to go through this process to maintain their following list is not practical.

Instead, clients can keep a small weekly backup of your following and relay lists, which can be easily broadcast when needed.

NostrSync serves a larger, but distinct purpose, such as migrating data, including notes, between Relays and making it available on every relay for everyone.

Your NostrSync backup file includes the public keys of everyone you follow, which you can obtain and rebroadcast as the latest event with the client.

Nevertheless, it's simpler for clients to keep those weekly backups, especially for following & relay list, you can also broadcast them as Latest in one click because you're already logged in.

If you are still facing issues, feel free to send me your backup file. It's public data, I'll attempt to simplify the process for you.

By the way, thank you for your patience and for the zaps. I will also explore the possibility of integrating the Nostr Profile Manager with NostrSync.

Of course, it's not the most efficient solution, but it can address the issue until the client begins implementing some kind of solution.
