For those of you wondering what I’m talking about, this is the new, oddly consistent “marketing tactic” being used by the bitcoiner Shitcoin res (the group who thinks that bitcoin is falling behind because of how ViBrANt the shitcoin world is 🤦🏻‍♂️)

This is the “Bitcoin season 2” thing being pushed. I haven’t gotten any concrete thing on what it is they think isn’t being built that Bitcoin needs. I've been getting some big 2017 vibes. Saw someone shilling Tron the other day. Also, the talk about the performance of various shitcoins as if they aren't tied to BTC 99.9% of the time. It's very nostalgic.

I locked up the wallets and stopped reading about crypto for 5 years. Got interested again with Lightning and Nostr. Now I'm wondering, did the bullshit and shitcoin peddling ever stop while I was away?

It wouldn’t surprise me if this was some kind of FUD to try to take down Bitcoin in favor of some new, better, faster thing that doesn’t have the same kinds of guarantees that Bitcoin has in favor of eventually controlling the new, better, faster thing (read: your betters don’t want to lose power).

Or maybe not.
