So I've been paying for a service which parses my resume, compares it to job postings, and helps me get the resume to pass the ATS system. When I first payed for it the service seemed well worth it as previously I was getting no callbacks at all, and it turned out ATS was literally not picking up anything on my resume so it seemed blank and went straight to trash. Once I started using ATS screening on my resume before applications I at least started getting interviews.

However I guess they've updated themselves and now it does not allow me to edit my resume. The PowerEdit option used to work well, and used to be optional. Now it's the only option and it is erasing my job titles, changing the locations of jobs, clearing the bullet formatting on some but not all jobs. This is absolutely trash. I went to go cancel because hell no, and all of the cancellation pages are giving 404 error. Don't use JobScan y'all it's a fucking scam now!

This is really feeling like a straw that broke the camels back situation and I am so frustrated with absolutely everything. I hate AI and how it's making the job application process horrible, I hate that I can't count on anything consistently working because everyone wants to update and enshittify their programs, and I hate how unsuccessful I've been at securing income over these past few months. I know it's not just me, I know this too shall pass, and normally I can stay positive but I am struggling at the moment.

Off to go cry out of frustration

This is the issue with the credentialing system of our day and age. The joke is that every company wants an Ash Ketchum (an 11 year old with 20 years experience) but will lay you off for an immigrant or over a false allegation on a whim.

This is because fiat and corporate favoritism killed small business. And the Wuhan Virus was final straw for most of it. They forcibly bankrupted half the world then allowed blackrock and vanguard to buy all the assets back at a premium with freshly printed money before the market adjusted to the inflation it represented.

You don’t get to know your employer (nor does he know or care to know you). You don’t get to look him in the eyes, shake his hand, and prove your case to get the job. Your resume is read by AI, largely as a way to tell you no without saying no.

“Well, if we meet him and we don’t hire whites, he could sue us… but if we use AI to filter out white-sounding names, we are in the clear.” Businesses also intentionally post job listings with intentionally ridiculous standards in order to then ask for government handouts “we can’t find anybody” and then get stimulus money or apply for H1B visas to undercut the wages that actual locals would demand.

AI is not the issue, but the means and excuse for corporations to not hire whites, not hire locals or other “undesirables”, to beg for handouts that shouldn’t exist, and to avoid culpability and accountability for their fraud and government collusion.

Two things need to happen:

1) establishment of ACTUAL peer to peer trade that entirely undercuts government monitoring, let alone control and

2) terrible retribution for everyone and anyone involved in enforcing the current system (IRS, regulators, megacorps).

Gen Z and Gen Alpha will burn the world to the ground out of desperation otherwise.
