it’s a currency, and should be treated as such

am i misunderstanding a distinction here? i consider cryptocurrencies to be currencies. its in the name ??
one way I like to think of it: bitcoin is like nostr, a decentralized protocol, no CEO, no management, rules without rulers.
crypto is like Twitter, a centralized “company”/authority that can change the rules, rules BY rulers.
yes, Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency, but it’s the only decentralized cryptocurrency. Bitcoin ties the digital world to the physical world through its PoW mining, but I won’t get into the weeds.
alright, come at me with the torches and pitchforks 🔥
I agree 💯
Dogecoin 😉
Correct
There is no second best
Thats like thinking cnn is news because news in in the name. Or thinking the patriot act has any thing to do with patriots.
All Lies. I say, consider the source. Of the so-called crypto currencies in existence, only bitcoin has an honest source. That source was anonymous, but the truth is in the code that he shared with the world. As for cnn: that source is obviously unreliable. And for that patriot act thing, a bunch of bad actors who rule the world were behind it. Yes, consider the source.
fair point. altho, take currency as a unit of exchange of value-for-value & like. lots of things are currencies
Yes currencies like real estate or stocks or gold would all be better than dollars
But btc is 1000x better than any of those imo
american govt money print machine go brrrrrrrrr (but only for war)
That’s why guys like Cory at swan say it’s a race to end war
Bitcoin fixes this
