What does this have to do with “helping people in need”? What accountability and oversight is there over the funds you are managing? Every post from the Pleb Fund says “we” so who else is running that with you?

So let me get this straight, you single handedly run the pleb fund account and ask for public donations on the pretense that those funds will be used to help people in need, and then you unilaterally decide who or what qualifies for the disbursement of those funds?

Ill just say my view and thats it. I want to look at the pleb fund as more of a good will fund for nostr. I do not totally agree with how some donations are recycled back into another project on geyser, id prefer not to have redundancy and have it be kept to individuals on nostr in need. I have talked with him about seeing what the funds go to and there results (real life affects) are important in any donation ran fund. I do feel it can be made into a great project with the right direction. Cause to be honest opensats is the real deal on how it should be ran, but they are also alot more capable and well funded. Just my opinions as someone who donated a small chunk. Appreciate your time man.

Yes you are right there is no comparison. But the issues can be addressed and take from real orgs and operate at a smaller scale for individuals. Its hell of alot of work to do any non profit properly and be successful. In the end it aint my fund and he can choose to take it any direction he wants. I would love to see it become more legit and successful, if can solidify what he wants to accomplish. I would more like to see a more grassroots nostr fund that just can help pay day to day bills people are struggling with and show some real small actions. Loved how I was able to pay friends heat/water/or electric when they were down and out from across the world. Sorry im all over the place!
If no one is willing to call out scammy and unscrupulous behavior then it will only get worse. There is no need to tolerate it and pretend it’s ok. It’s not. Shit needs to stop.
I agree dont want to incentivize bad actors, but he has atleast been donating sats to others and not stealing funds (yes could always be stolen later). Everyone has a choice though and people can use this info to make a decision. Alot of good projects on geyser. Mean I mostly just donate to who brings me value. Oddly lightx plebfund was the thing that got me into geyser and funding projects for cool things. But ill end it on that for my end. Im hoping to get a lighning pos system on geyser soon ;)

Geyser is great 💜 There is a difference between an individual crowdfunding for themselves, vs. someone posing as a charity and soliciting donations from others to give out to others in need. The pleb fund geyser page says they keep a percentage to support operating the fund. What operations? What percentage? It is one person accepting sats and zapping them back out to whomever he pleases. 
LightX gave a bad taste in my mouth a long time ago when he started doing his brand impersonation stunts and relentless engagement bribery. Have had him muted since. Smells a lot like fiat 👎🏻.

You don't need to be a registered non for profit to help people.
Whether your pleb fund effort would require registration as a non profit is not something I can advise you on. However, my point was that a registered non profit that has already gone through the process of establishing a legal structure and setting up a board that oversees its activities is far more likely to be trustworthy than a single account run by an unknown person, and a person with a reputation of begging for money no less.
I just followed this account today as I was curious as well 🤔. There’s not enough transparency for me to donate anything, yet.
