So few realize it but GDP is manipulated just like CPI
Discussion
That's why I wouldn't be shocked a sat will be a dollar pp-wise
My favorite lying indicator is unemployment rate. My province doesn't even hide it. Even an insane person is asking: "Where'd the other 30%+ go!?" 🤣

“Not seeking employment” -same thing in USA, big scam
To understand GDP, here's a little fable with feral economists:
Two economists are walking in a forest when they come across a pile of shit.
The first economist says to the other “I’ll pay you $100 to eat that pile of shit.” The second economist takes the $100 and eats the pile of shit.
They continue walking until they come across a second pile of shit. The second economist turns to the first and says “I’ll pay you $100 to eat that pile of shit.” The first economist takes the $100 and eats a pile of shit.
Walking a little more, the first economist looks at the second and says, "You know, I gave you $100 to eat shit, then you gave me back the same $100 to eat shit. I can't help but feel like we both just ate shit for nothing."
"That's not true", responded the second economist. "We increased the GDP by $200!"
#GDP
WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT you mean measuring our worth and economic activity by the amount of bombs we can sell to blow up a place to rebuild a place with is not a good measuring stick???? If we only had some standard that didn't change... #BITCOIN
This is true but your metric on power use has no source and it's not measure of productivity which may in fact be stagnant or worse. Your power metric is very fishy.
How about data centers, Bitcoin mining, electric cars, people no longer working in offices.
We also use less gas because our cats are more fuel efficient to the point that states charge extra penalty taxes on fuel efficient vehicles because they get less in gas sales.
Finally, we know USD is no way to measure GDP because there is no denominator.
I agree GDP is nonsense but it is out there and to use the power metric I question that also.
Manufacturing output is flat. Labor force participation has fallen. I could probably find a dozen more metrics.
Real GDP per capita has barely increased
