you should not deposit onchain.

the first one was about buying a channel with incoming liquidity from a lighting service provider. it gives you best connectivity and the ability to instantly receive.

when you use onchain funds you can open an outgoing channel.

channels should be big to be able to send/receive some amounts.

you used a different interface there.

if you’re interested learn a bit about channels, there are links to guides

oh and when using onchain that money is still yours, you just put it in a channel to be used by you in the lightning network. so the recommendation is to use a higher amount (because with $100 in a channel you can’t send $101 for example)

any suggestions?

didn’t the message say this? and you specifically have to go to opening a channel with onchain?

Making free apps seems like a lot of work.

The explanation seems like a lot to digest for a noob. Could maybe the channel opening be combined with the Alby payment? With an explainer that the payment will be subtracted from the funds?

I think that’s actually what the default onboarding flow is currently.

if you go out of the default then it’s a lot, yes.
