Does anyone else find it interesting that nobody ever refers to a single person as a folk? It’s always “folks”

Unless they're telling some sort of story.

Then it's a folk lore.

Monkey drums gif.

Hmmm like a tale perhaps? Yes… but even that has a sentiment of plurality imo

Even folk refers to a group of people.

"Folk don't care for the woods anymore."

Right. It’s almost impossible for a guy or gal to just be a folk!!

Fogey is the singular

that is interesting. though archaic, it's still used in the southern us...and probably elsewhere. ex⋮ "you folk ain't from 'round here"

They say this to a single person even? Sounds like “you guys” to me

oof. replied in a hurry. interesting. yes, i am pretty sure the singular (in use) is fellow or friend etc but yes both folk and folks are plural nouns. food for thought. thx

Hope you're well, my peep on Nostr 🐤😁

I identify as a folk
