Are we taught or self-develop being afraid of uncomfortable situations instead of embracing it?

Sounds evolutionary to me.
Deep discomfort with a situation is likely (outside of mental illness) an instinctual early warning sign of physical danger. So erring on the side of scrutiny and avoidance is probably a wise survival move.
Like when you see a prey animal go kind of stiff and look around nervously and then run. That's their early warning - no clear danger get - system making them uncomfortable.
Then it might be time to evolve further. The sabertooth tiger won't eat us anymore.
Itβs important to lean into discomfort. That is where growth occurs. Fleeing from discomfort leads to atrophy
I agree. I think it is kind of a "muscle". The more you practice handling discomfort, the easier it will be next time.
Could be also thought as a habbit, or automatic reaction. If you don't get used to bear discomfort, it will be your first reaction to end it. But if you get used to handling it, it will be kind of easy to stay or go further/jump in.
