Voting is useless, if the blues win the system is the same, if the reds win the system is the same.
The best thing to do is to screw the system by taking away its funding.
More specifically, bleed the companies behind the “voting” machines like Dominion dry. Isn’t it funny how there weren’t issues with paper ballots, but we consistently run into machine “errors” and “malfunctions” under supposedly more advanced tech?
In the Netherlands we still have paper ballots.
However we have an entirely different political system with not just red and blue. We have many parties, and the need to work together to form a majority. This means they always do promises before elections, but after they are elected 9 out of 10 promises can’t be realised because they have to work together with other parties and they demand to drop some specific things the other party promised.
It’s one big clownshow and totally not constructive. At the moment we have 4 parties working together blocking all ideas or things that oppose them. Nothing democratic about it anymore imo
In Czech Republic we also have many parties. They also have to create coalitions to be able to do rule. And guess what, all of them are socialist. Even the ones that larp as being on the right.
Big promisses about making the state smaller before the elections. Nothing but handing out money and raising taxes after the elections. They even say "we have to cut expenses, such as raising the taxes on self employed, capital taxes and property taxes". I kid you not.
You can vote for any party, as long as they are socialists. Vote harder!

I think it's the system and the incentives it has. Ratchet only goes in one direction unless there is some big event that breaks it. The resistance of the big bureaucracy is enormous. And people like the handouts. Many like the big state. Only the taxes "others should pay more in taxes, not me!".

I know that hardly anyone is interested to hear what some small country political situation looks like. The point of my note was that it doesn't really matter how many politilal parties there are or even how you vote. The outcome is very similar.

Have to research the lightning wallets some more before joining the zap parties. So far it's:
Wallet of Satoshi - custodial (meh), but simple and compatible with zaps
Alby - many options from the simplest custodian to full blast, c
Phoenix - good, but is it zap compatible?
Electrum - I have the desktop version installed, just not with segwit addresses (with balances) so the ligtning functionality there is greyed out... I doubt it's zap compatible too...
I really need to do my research on this and it will take some time.
You can always use wallet of Satoshi as temporary and send funds over to custodial.
It at least gets you started with zapping 😉

That's true. It's like trying to install windows 10 on a C64. But besides having to fix the system (first) we also need to vote for different people, a different generation. I mean look at the US and the avg age of their representatives or even in the EU. They've been playing with the same friends and in the same circles for generations. Nothing will ever change for as long as we keep electing the same bloodlines of frens and their frens.
From the moment the system steals from you through taxes, it doesn't matter who you vote for, it's voting for your favorite thief.
The inflationary nature of our money is where the true evil lies. Taxes you can see but inflation is the real thief of the working (non investing) class.

I know what you mean. I opted out of the tax system years ago. at least national tax. I have no problem paying community tax. I see how it's being used again within my community / town.
