i had this thought the other day. there is obviously some pattern of activity in your pets brain that you could in theory decode to understand what they are thinking/saying. things like "i'm hungry", "i'm bored", etc.

its only a matter of time before someone builds a pet brain-computer-interface + app that allows you to communicate with your cat

Breaking news, for your dog, it's always, "I'm hungry!"

Can't speak for cats.

i had a friend who used like 20 buttons “talk” with her little dog 😂

always left me in shock to see it

i always found those videos fascinating but never knew if they were legit or just the result of many recordings and chance

Dogs already can bi-directionally communicate well just with body language & behavior. My pug can grab the correct toy out of a dozen just by me naming it, and some well trained dogs in research studies have vocabularies of over a thousand words. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those are true.

It’s in the works! Whales first…

Zap em 10 sats to sit down

Google is working on this with Dolphins right now. I'm sure pets aren't far away.

If this ever happens it's only a question of time until vegan activists break into factory farms to communicate with pigs and cows.

Donning his new canine decoder, Professor Schwartzman becomes the first human being on Earth to hear what barking dogs are actually saying.

Hey! Hey! Hey!

Heyyyyyyyyyy.

Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!

Hey! Hey!

Body language is like 80% of communication. I don't think we really need a translation AI when we can already tell.

we want it tho

Autistic pet ownership will rise if we build the right tools

want food. want fuck. saw mouse. want food. want water. want to sleep. what was that? want food.
