I think the subscription thing is a major issue. For a creator they’d much rather give up 30% to 50% of their transaction value if they know it’s recurring.
People don’t understand that recurring payments is the only thing that makes it work.
The fundamental failure of crypto to address this is a problem. That said if I can use nostr wallet connect to do payments why can’t I tell it to do a subscription?
People also don’t understand rugpulls platforms and “payment providers”. Self-custody bitcoin does fix that.
Non-recurring payments do not work because no one wants to type credit card numbers every month.
I agree. Why cant you make micropayments for each piece of digital media you consume rathwr than a mi thky subscription?

I'm not an expert but I don't think this is the case. My understanding is the most successful on onlyfans set their subscription to free and make all their money on tips in the DMs. Recurring might be nice for some to set a steady baseline.
