That industry depends on pull payments for subscriptions, specially the ones who forget to cancel.

In btcpay we have a concept of pull payments where a store can generate one with a specific amount and currency and once you share the url to it, another wallet or service can pull from it until the threshold is reached. Even has a feature so that it resets the amount at intervals, so would work great with this kind of thing. Only issue is that it's yet another api protocol that would need to be supported by wallets and services
I think the subscription thing is a major issue. For a creator theyâd much rather give up 30% to 50% of their transaction value if they know itâs recurring.
People donât understand that recurring payments is the only thing that makes it work.
The fundamental failure of crypto to address this is a problem. That said if I can use nostr wallet connect to do payments why canât I tell it to do a subscription?
People also donât understand rugpulls platforms and âpayment providersâ. Self-custody bitcoin does fix that.

I'm not an expert but I don't think this is the case. My understanding is the most successful on onlyfans set their subscription to free and make all their money on tips in the DMs. Recurring might be nice for some to set a steady baseline.
