nowadays I prefer using Android
Apple gets a lot of deserved flack for its walled garden approach for all their products, but they have a decent track record of prioritizing privacy and security. With that said, not even Apple can escape government overreach.
Occasionally, I do think about switching my main smartphone device to Google Pixel + GrapheneOS for reasons like this, keeping iPhone only as a development device. But I enjoy the iOS aesthetic.
Apple users have been hoodwinked into thinking Apple was defending their privacy. Do you think Apple will fight back? It may try to.
Thing is, Australia, Canada, UK, Brazil, etc are all enacting anti-encryption legislation. Thus is a fight apple won't be able to win.
Likely Apple will make an appearance of fighting it for show, then allow backdoor access. It's all closed source so no one will ever know.
Apple is NOT a privacy friendly company.
