Hashing it out in public is how we find the truth. Sometimes it devolves into bickering and egos (guilty of this too sometimes) but it's just part of the process. I've learned a lot and changed some of my views over time thanks to these public conversations.
Maybe we just see it more because it's Bitcoiners and Monerbros on Nostr mostly. I think in reality most users don't mind either coin even if they don't use it personally.
But that is rarely what happens, nor is it what I am talking about. I am talking about the needless and childish bullshit that solves nothing, just one cult arguing with another. Having rational conversations obviously is a good thing, but again, not what I mean. Few months back, after not being on nostr for a bit, came back to about 3 different people who felt compelled to tell me how superior they were to me for the sole fact that I have a monero addy in my profile. I said nothing about monero, I had zero interactions with these three, yet I hear a bunch of overgrown children yapping like a bunch of little girls. That is the type of shit I mean.
The truth is both xmr and btc have use. End of story.
