Ok let me clarify this since it appears that the only people who took issue with this were from the btc community. I am not singling out anyone in particular, nor am I saying one community is 'guilty' and the other isnt. What I am saying is many on both sides need to swallow their pride (over money nonetheless, for the love of money is the root of all evil...) and grow the fuck up. Nobody solving shit, nobody fixing shit, if we are fighting each other.
I think it should be more about compartmentalization then arguing about which coin is superior. I use Bitcoin like digital gold for long-term savings while I use Monero as digital cash for short-term savings and payments.
I'm an avid Monerist but still think that BTC has some value and should not be forgotten. I tend to follow both BTC and XMR accounts as well.
I think people just focused more on the concept of different crypto having different purposes, then that would eliminate this crypto Olympics we've been in here.

Bitcoin, monero, silver, gold and (gasp) even cash serve a purpose for me. So I see no reason for people to limit themselves other than fear of being shunned or something similarly silly
My only issue, since I understand the use cases for monero, is that every single cryptocurrency other than bitcoin leeches time and effort away from trying to achieve the end goal. There's no space for second place in this fight. All efforts should be directed behind the primary contender. Of course, I understand people are free to spend their precious time as they see fit, so I never try to tell people to abandon what they're doing to focus on what I happen to think is the most important goal. Thatd be bloody rude and obnoxious.

Hashing it out in public is how we find the truth. Sometimes it devolves into bickering and egos (guilty of this too sometimes) but it's just part of the process. I've learned a lot and changed some of my views over time thanks to these public conversations.
Maybe we just see it more because it's Bitcoiners and Monerbros on Nostr mostly. I think in reality most users don't mind either coin even if they don't use it personally.
But that is rarely what happens, nor is it what I am talking about. I am talking about the needless and childish bullshit that solves nothing, just one cult arguing with another. Having rational conversations obviously is a good thing, but again, not what I mean. Few months back, after not being on nostr for a bit, came back to about 3 different people who felt compelled to tell me how superior they were to me for the sole fact that I have a monero addy in my profile. I said nothing about monero, I had zero interactions with these three, yet I hear a bunch of overgrown children yapping like a bunch of little girls. That is the type of shit I mean.
The truth is both xmr and btc have use. End of story.
