**ACCEPT THAT THIS MESS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY**

I spent the first 37 years of my life in a religious cult, so I understand how people can be indoctrinated to do things they would not otherwise do. Even so, I accept that the things I did while in the cult are my responsibility. They're my fault. I don't do guilt (it's unproductive), but I accept responsibility.

The corrupt financial system is also partly my fault. I supported it, worked with it, helped prop it up. I didn't know any better because I was indoctrinated, but the actions were mine, and I accept responsibility.

I got out of the religious cult, and I got out of the Cult of Fiat. I now actively work against such institutions, but it started with accepting that neither would exist if we had all stopped and paid attention to what was being done to us and around us. We didn't ask questions when we should have been.

Many are quick to dismiss personal responsibility. Nothing is their fault. Everything was done to them and that entitles them to wallow in the mire they were thrown into and cause others trouble and everyone has to just put up with it. It's a very fiat mindset.

I like to say that "it's not your fault, but it is your problem." Even if something was done to you that caused you strife and trouble, you're the one that's going to have to deal with it. Many times, though, that starts with accepting the part we played in letting ourselves fall into the trouble or be duped to begin with.

Accepting that is important. It's an opportunity to analyze why we fell for it. If we understand that, we'll be protected from falling for something similar going forward. I guarantee you I will never be in another cult again: religious or secular. I know them all too well.

**So say it with me: I accept responsibility and will never fall for it again.**

Where you born into the cult? Or did you willingly consent?

Born in.

Wow🌻🫂How long did it take you to understand the feelings associated with your parents choice?

What an honest and humble story! 👍

Very well written

Thank you for your story. History has shown us what large groups of individuals are willing to do to those whose worldviews do not align with the "majority" (members of said "cult"). Rather than being open to the viewpoints of others, or being willing to adapt, the majority will double down by using force to make others conform. This is what scares me the most for my children. I do not believe this battle will end in my lifetime. I buy btc for my children. I don't believe the "majority", who still abide by the laws of "fiat" will just all of sudden switch to a bitcoin standard. They will double down. They will use force. A starving bear will eat its young. Man has shown that he is far worste than the most desperate bear.

The shift to taking responsibility is one of the most frustration and pain reducing and happiness inducing paths an individual can take. Because then the victim identity is being rejected, and the victor identity is getting recognized and internalized.

If everyone was just a little bit more inclined to question all the stuff we take for granted the world would be such a better place, unfortunately the primitive part of our mind is wired to seek safety in conformity.

I really like the way this book explains the mind traps we all fall into.
