I'm in the rather odd position of posting self-portraits into a feed containing (white and Asian) women half my age, who are much thinner and better-looking than I am. A few of them have all of their clothes on (usually), and a subset of them are even real.

Sometimes I wonder, if I'm annoying everyone with this odd spergy habit (probably), or if the sort of unapologetic realism of a countenance only an artist could love adds some greater depth of humanity to your feed, that otherwise is full of perfect people doing perfect things in perfect places.

I don't know.

And I'm too autistic to really care.

So, here's another one.

My wife was pulling up pictures of her ideal hair color on google before a trip to the salon and I kept having to point out that all of the images were AI.

Itโ€™s like no wonder the girl has perfect hair, sheโ€™s not real.

They do it with clothes models, as well.

irl IZ perfect imho

Well, I dunno, I adore you

*artist detected*

Maybe ๐Ÿ˜‚

Youโ€™re authentic and cute. Whatโ€™s not to like?

Hmm. Women who grow up being well-liked and being told that they're attractive... don't learn to code.

+1 & hav/\/fun*****

๐Ÿ’œ real people being authentic.

it's purrfectly fine :3

Their selfies:

My selfies:

That is why I will only ever display my right ear, going forward.

๐Ÿ˜น๐Ÿ˜น๐Ÿ˜น

okay, i want to comment on the artistic expression of this, but my guy-brain can't get past the question of how is the first one a selfie if we can see the phone she's holding??

>_<

Valid point. Maybe that's the new thing...it's actually not a selfie, but a "real" captured moment of taking a selfie and therefore not self-absorbed like a regular look-at-me. Or maybe it's more so!

Probably posed, but people often have their phone displayed in their selfies because of mirrors.

omg

now i'm wondering "who's holding the mirror~!?" lol

Oh I'd say that one was definitely posed.

I appreciate the accounts that share personal stuff, for now anyway. many of the current crowd on here are careful not to reveal much (cypherpunk ethos and all) which is a little unnatural at times

Yeah. I think the lack of such "normie" stuff can make it difficult to onboard people, as they have to sort of break with the "local" culture to post it.

That's actually why I started posting it, regularly, LOOK, A NORMAN HUMAN FEMALE ON THE NOSTRNET!, and now it's sort of become my tradition and I've come to enjoy it.

I didn't really do this, on Twitter. I was more anon. My real face was in my avatar but most people thought it wasn't me.

And, before Twitter, I was anon on the Internet for about 30 years. Lots of people assumed I was a man.

I feel more comfortable being myself, on here. It seems more homey and we have meetups and things. Familial.

Interesting. Tough call to make, but bet it feels nice to be more open.

Probably good for keeping one's ego in check too lol. It's easy to get carried away larping a lil bit when you're anon ๐Ÿ˜…

Itโ€™s scary when you canโ€™t tell the difference.

I can usually tell the difference. I think men find it more difficult to discern because they aren't as experienced in cataloging minor aberrations in the human form.

sum/

Ah, that makes sense. What do you attribute that experience to?

Being autistic and staring inappropriately at people.

I see.. you have superpowers.

๐Ÿ’ฏ

There are plenty of hot naked chicks on the Internet. Not very many classy ladies, though. Keep it up.

๐Ÿซ‚

I'll be blunt. I am almost blind, actually seing a women is hard for me.

So, I do like to see posts online - I can take my time to look without being called a weirdo for staring although it just literally takes me a minute to "see" someone.

'tis the reason I sit in a bus with my eyes closed. Am staring into my insides, hue.

So... no, I don't mind. In a way I actually appreciate it.

I also like to stare at the pics. I open PfPs and zoom waaaay in. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Mood ... but probably for a vastly different reason. XD

I See well-enough, sorta, with glasses. I'm just fascinated by human faces.

+23/-0,3 Dioptrin. o.o

Glasses big as thumbs. Both eyes.

๐Ÿซ‚ yeah. Go ahead and zoom in, bro.

I've also noticed that people seem to immediately feel comfortable around me, when they meet me at a meetup, for the first time, and I think it's because they feel like they already sorta know me.

People who meet me IRL are usually visibly startled, but y'all are used to my appearance.

There's a chance I would probably even recognize you. Slim chance, but possible lol.

Though my IRL OCR - err, OPR ;) - is pretty terrible. Voices and hairstyles are my ankerpoints most of the time. The former doesn't change but rare on the internet and the latter is changed comparably fast.

Sooo... Finding people is hard. x)

You'd probably recognize my voice. It's distinct and has a mish-mashed accent and dialect.

audio?

GM laeserin ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿ’œ Perfection doesn't exist! The more authentic a person is, the more beautiful he is! The closer it is to perfection, the less authentic it is. Remember it well! Long live the flaws and imperfections that make us 100% authentic human beings ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ˜‰

I donโ€™t spend much time looking at photos or videos of people irrespective of age or gender. Iโ€™m more more interested in what they have to say or what they have done or plan to do. That aside, the photos youโ€™ve posted of yourself (as they say - or used to say) are quite easy on the eyes! ๐Ÿ™‚

Autistic -> artistic ๐Ÿ˜€

Same difference, really. ๐Ÿ˜‚

My first serious boyfriend was/is an artist and I've had a few artist friends draw portraits of me. I used to be pretty deep into the whole artist/musician scene because it's full of engineers and physicists.

My theory is that a lot of engineers and science-y types get into art because it takes their minds from the abstract (where they usually live) down to the concrete. That's part of why I started learning guitar a few years ago.

It could also have to do with the affinities between science and art/music, in that they're both mathematical.

The scientist and the engineer

Though the abstract world hold dear

Oft will wander down the street

To creative works more concrete

I ruminate I shall have to pass,

As your poem strikes me, alas,

Tis the sort of thing to bring

From men who can't sing,

And it's making you look quite the ass.

I met your AABB and raised you a Limerick, sir.

I'm sure you know what I'll ask next

As the random lass

Who called me an ass

How does a man sing in text?

๐Ÿคฃ

The lovely sonnet

Sound as the song of blue birds

Like a twittering.

Ah the simile

like a good metaphor

but without the teeth.

And drat I miscounted. But Japan be darned, I like it.
