Part of me wants Nostr to grow.
Part of me wants it to stay an intimate circle like it is now.

Dont worry, it will never be that main stream. Mastodon is a great example it has better user experience
Mastdon is reincarnating on nostr .. it might have better experience but It needs better backend ..

Mastodon has a better backend than anything on Nostr.
Ditto is the only Nostr relay designed right. Everything else is trash.
Sure .. use Ditto .. you got good of both worlds :-) .. or just stay with Mastadon .. your choice ..
Just don't try to make any of them mainstream .. 😉 .... mainstream sucks ..
Nostr is always going to be an intimate circle, overlapping other intimate circles.
You can have both with Communities 😉
We are going to grow and fragment so wildly that you're global feed will actually be a pleasant experience.
Honestly I miss the old days. I miss the old crew. I miss the old vibes and energy here.
Nostr won't survive at its current adoption rate. Developers and infrastructure operators need sustainability and income. At scale is the only way for funding this to work long term.

The question really is if you want to grow quick to die soon .. or go slow to to attain near eternity :-) ..
I choose later inspired by #Linux approach though I recognise social media is different ballagame ..
But then the point - nostr is lot more than social media ..
I do but hopefully it grows that that others can empower themselves and not let others control what and where to post.

What is the POINT of an intimate circle in this context?
If you found a gold mine , would you go around telling everyone ? First dig in as much as you can ..
Won't curating your feed allow you to make your circle as small as you want it?
