Saylor, ARK, and Fidelity have no desire to support Bitcoin development. They want Bitcoin to never change, so they can trade it in for CBDC tokens in 20 years.
Discussion
Or they want developers to make something that they can leverage. They also want to run more nodes than plebs for UASF.
Yikes
Oof
Governments will get their hands on a lot of bitcoin, most likely purchased from the names above and others.
I appreciate nostr:npub13l3lyslfzyscrqg8saw4r09y70702s6r025hz52sajqrvdvf88zskh8xc2 point on this that governments don't save, they spend. If the private market demands bitcoin for payment rather than dollars, they will have no choice but to spend the bitcoin back into the economy, decentralizing it even further.
Hodl your own corn, but also reject dirty fiat as payment for your time and energy.
This is a positive message
Could you elaborate?
When you send me sats on nostr, it is going to my Alby wallet. I did not set up a lightning node, make an on-chain transaction, and connect to a bunch of peers. Alby is a custodial wallet. It is basically Venmo.
When the blocksize debate was settled, Bitcoin kept its 1MB blocksize for old nodes, and increased the blocksize to 4MB for new nodes. This allowed lightning, but as you can see, we are all using custodial wallets. Same in El Salvador. As more people adopt Bitcoin, self-custody Lightning will be unattainable.
There are many proposed soft forks that could help lightning (though never really fix many of its underlying problems), as well as give us better L2 solutions. But the suits do not want to change Bitcoin, and claim it is perfect the way it is.
If I were a government spook, and I wanted to stop a revolutionary money system that can replace my fiat scam, "NEVER CHANGE BITCOIN YOU EVIL SHITCOINER" is the perfect way.
