lmao

I'm not kidding I have a new born.... How much crying is acceptable for attachment to the nipple before giving the bottle? ???

find a lactation consultant to support your wife. the feeding part can be v stressful if not smooth sailing

We did all that

.. I think we just need 1 2oz bottle of conola a day

Formula is terrible, but better than no calories. Do what's best for your kid. Goat milk (and goat milk formula if you're not sure about raw milk) are viable alternatives, although our son eventually started puking it up. If your kid stops putting on weight, that's bad, but look out for length or head circumference stalling, that's a much bigger deal.

Thanks man.... Im gonna check about that head circumstance... Ya the goat milk were gonna use soon but right now breastfeeding 90% and formula 10%...

Oh, also babies need more B6 than adults do

no seed oils, a2 protein. it says toddler only because they can't legally call it baby, but it has all necessary nutrients and i know moms who couldn't breast feed who use this from day one.

good luck. tough moment. πŸ’•

How old is babe?

2 1/2 months

A quick suggestion without knowing any of your feeding patterns. Sometimes it can be helpful to do an entire feed on one side, to get as much of the fatty, tummy filling hind milk as possible.

Thanks πŸ’œ

Yeah. The official advice is to switch breasts every some-odd number of minutes. I usually didn’t do that, but let my baby stay on one until she was done with it and wanted to switch or sleep.

Ya true but if no milk comes after 2 separate attempts we warm the formula it happen once a day.

Hungry babes don’t wait!

If you’re hesitant to use traditional formula, there are other formula options or you can see if there’s a milk bank in your area.

Success, feeding woes can be exhausting and the research of alternatives is time consuming.

Others have mentioned donated or sold breastmilk, that goat and sheep milk can work, and that canola oil-containing formula is better than starving. 100%. I’ll also share a product I know about.

This is a cow’s milk formula, so use with caution at first and see how your baby reacts to it. I do know some people have given it to their newborns with no problem, possibly because it is A2A2, I’m not sure. I wish the same company would make a goat- or sheep-based one which would be a bit less questionable.

It might help to pump a small amount between feedings. Not only so you have a little extra around, but also because it will give her body feedback to produce more.

This should be done carefully. A large oversupply can cause mastitis which is truly an awful and potentially dangerous experience. Don’t aim for a lot extra, just see if a little boost and a little extra helps.

Make sure the pump flanges are the right size, too. You may have to order the correct size as it may not have come with the pump.

People have mentioned lactation consultants β€” I would also look for La Leche League meetings or social media groups near you.

The 'Liquid Gold' herbal pills are quite effective. (Or just get the herbs it has)

My wife's milk never really came. We were super anti formula, but when the lactation consultant came she sent me right away to buy formula cuz baby was starving. We were horrified, but both our boys were almost 100% formula fed and now they are late teens, and they are super smart and healthy, so prolly don't worry too much. We also thought we would never give them any kinda pills or anything unnatural, but when our first son was one yr and teething we gave him ibuprofen every night for a month(!) just so anyone could get any sleep πŸ€ͺ

Fenugreek is know to increase lactation.

Eat more curry!

Use fresh fenugreek leaves if you can. Cause the seeds and spicepowder. Can have an effect on blood sugar levels when taken daily
