i don’t have time for men who are unable to put in effort to support themselves and take advantage of their parents at a grown age. men must be men again.

I’d say it’s both until they meet the other half who doesn’t 😂 - unless of course it’s all under one giant roof often seen in Middle Eastern cultures. (Speaking from experience). Father/mother top floor, married offspring middle floor. And grandfather/grandmother sprawled across the ground floor (because stairs) along with a few aunties, uncles and cousins dotted around in outbuildings with a huge area for all the kids to play… 🤣

Yeah love it too. I think it’s actually quite a supportive set up. No old people’s care homes etc. and the kids practically look after themselves with a few aunties keeping them in check with their shib-shibs. 😅 But not sure it’s always men. Plenty I know, including myself, who live on their own and women who live with their mums. Or perhaps I am missing the angle you’re coming from? (I often do that on here - need to hear the tone and include the context, which I so often miss here).

but i agree with you, i already take care of my parents, that’s why i haven’t ever moved from st. louis. in the future they will live with me. retirement homes are awful.
