Now with multiple follow Lists, follow/follower count/displays make even less sense. What do we do with them?

I don't even know about multiple follow lists so no vote.

What about an average impressions counter, is more real anyway

As inaccurate as they may be, they do offer some credence in the genuine/imposter scenerio. Not infallible but definitely leans in favor of sincerity.

Keep 3 list, and make user config, to set public, private or public to followers for every list. Complicated but I think this can work.

Follower counts (as inaccurate as they are) are still an important metric that signals reach and the impact of your content.

Follower counts are an important feedback mechanism and help kepp contentquality high.

If your follower counts are low to dropping, it is a market response telling you that maybe your content sucks and you should improve your signal/message/content.

In summary, follower counts help improve the overall quality of content on Nostr by providing a feedback mechanism

As all three comments so far indicate, the primary concerns are privacy and social proof. I think nostr:npub1l7taskavzds4lged0w3ptzwd85kv9c9tsz50kx322v309pzgrt8sg55cqh is on the right track. The count should reflect the total number of follows with optionality in revealing who they actually are. This only really matters if the clients themselves can't access the lists either though...

I think the ideal would be to show the total, but the visibility of who they are should be a toggle. I don't know if it is possible with the current estate of thing but I think it would be ideal

I can't understand this poll without understanding the follow lists feature.

But I do agree with nostr:npub13700uhjmtvfl49n4drcr0qg7rk863m8rzqdgceddpfwh2ejlumdqn6375k. Follower counts are valuable.

Can we publish things so only one List can see it?
