Open carry at meetups > open photos at meetups

normalize no photo and video policies at meetups

everywhere

No phones allowed. Only guns

Imagine someone walking in with a crossbow. 😂

Concealed is better, unless your planing on bringing a rifle.

tradeoffs, normalization is important

Okay, good point. Normalization gives open carry a few points in my book.

I conceal carry every day at work, but come the weekend I open carry because I want to enforce the idea that carrying a firearm is normal.

Good people with guns make us safer.

What are the firearm laws like in TN?

we have constitutional carry here, both open and concealed without a permit

Permit makes it easier to buy a new gun here in GA, plus reciprocity. We have constitution carry now too though.

Dealing with waiting on a bg check to clear now because mine expired 😞

Ours is $75 . You know how much TN is? Might be worth it to skip the headache depending on prica and how long it's good for.

That would be cool. If its legal in your country do it.

An armed society is a polite society.

I will also add, if this is your strategy, you should take at least one gun fighting class.

Keep in mind, shooting someone goes against out natural instinct. You need to train past the reluctance or that firearm is just a toy.

I don't want anyone shot, I'm just saying if you are not trained, you could hurt innocent people around you.

yes, similar to bitcoin and other personal responsibility tools, training is incredibly important

I much prefer open carry to concealed. Concealed carry makes you look sketchy like your hiding something. Open carry is pure unapologetic confidence!

No. Concealed is the way. Open carry just gets you shot or sucker punched.

CC is not “sketchy” if you do it right. (Emphasis on the concealed) It shouldn’t even be known—at least outside your immediate trusted circle. I disagree with Matt on this take, but to each their own.

Open carry is kind of like advertising your Bitcoin security setup. It isn’t a shitcoin, but it is mostly for weird, insecure, untrained people. At least from my observed experience. It also makes you the first target. Please do change the stigma though even though I will continue to choose to CC.

This. And you're also not concealed carrying if your apparel screams "I'm carrying a gun." No Sig hats. No shirts with some dumb saying about the 2nd amendment.

Open carry is retarded, but I support this.

I'm a huge 2a supporter but I have to say open carry shouldn't be the norm. I carry regularly and when I see someone come into a large public gathering open it just seems unnecessary and distracting to most.

Yeeeees.

We also need to make #gunstr a thing. Bitcoin and guns go hand in hand.

What does open carry mean ?

Wearing a gun visibly.

Hope you don't mention rust at these meetups then

I just assume at least half the attendees are CC'ing

It's not going to attract those on the Left who aren't bitcoiners yet. There's no reason to open carry at meetups other than showing each other you are carrying a gun. It's lame and will only increase the lefts opposition to bitcoin.

What’s open carry?

Holstering your firearm where everyone can see it. Not concealed

Okay. And that is legal or illegal in the US?

Generally legal all over I believe. However each state is different in their “rules”…

TLDR -

a lot of the states make it so cumbersome around open carry that you almost never see it because of how many ancillary rules and regs the state puts around open carry. Things like when you get to your car how you’re supposed to put it away and lock it up, etc. Becomes so much of a hassle that people don’t even do it.

Therefore the government and their intended effect has worked….Where the people just choose not to defend themselves and carry at all.

Psychotic

I see. For me as an European it’s fascinating that Americans can own guns. And then even carry them openly. I would be a gun owner for sure

I understand that. It’s like anything in life, it’s all relative.

Most Americans actually haven’t grown up with guns. We have moved so far away from our beginnings and common sense that we don’t even know the freedoms we once had.

Things got too good and people dropped their guard, in defense.

Therefore many people are “scared” of firearms because they didn’t grow up with them, the media sensationalizes it to do the governments dirty work. Governments never want their citizens to be able to protect themselves.

Ironically, No one is scared of cars here, because every person grows up with them daily and trains themselves how to use them. Yet cars kill/injure exponentially more people in America each year and it’s not even close. Yet no one bats an eye.

Rights come from God. Not from government. You don’t need to ask anyone for the permission to own anything of protect yourselves. Government works at our consent and is only there to uphold that rule of law. Period.

We will figure that out all over again but only after more problems and unrest. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Well said.

Yup. Great call. Will happen this decade as crazier shit will happen. More misplaced unrest.

I carry everywhere I go. However, it's always concealed and always will be unless I'm at the range or in a situation in which everyone is carrying. For me, it's not about the right to carry, the right to self defense is not something question. It's about tactics.

I believe that in most situations, showing my weapon is a bad idea. It tells any potential threat that I am a potiental threat to them and puts me at a disadvantage.

Now, all of that being said, I get your point. I would love to see firearms as normalized in other parts of the US as they are where I live. I mean, here is safe to assume girls in bikinis are carrying micro 9s.

Don't need a permit of any sort in #Arkansas. If you open carry at our meet up, no one will question it.

Carry as you wish, but don't be an ass. We'll definitely let you know if you are.

Fuck, this is the plot twist I wasn't ready for.

@odell is the spook now

I feel safer around boom sticks than boom mics.

Why the hell would I want to carry a weapon to a Bitcoin meetup?
