What is the reason, just curious? I dont look at porn on nostr, but I also don't want nostr to become betamax bc of this
There are a lot of non-nostr people abusing the free uploads with questionably legal porn and we don’t have the resources to properly filter, defend if there are legal issues, contact the owners, etc.
People can always post whatever links and images they want on nostr, they would just have to use a different service or their own servers for pornographic media, not nostr.build.
Pretty sure you are splitting hairs for virtue signalling here. You either go pornless, or you are still peddling porn.
We actually support legal adult content, but these are some of our challenges:
- People outside of nostr abusing our free uploads with questionably legal material, there is no way for us to contact or confirm the uploaded media
- We don’t have the resources to properly host porn, and it’s really not worth it for us..
- There is a big difference legally in people engaging in sexual acts, or just naked people. We have to draw the line somewhere.
