Why aren’t there any obese people in Japan? 🇯🇵
The food seems to have a lot of seed oils, carbs and sugars.
But walking through the city i don’t see ANY fat people… HOW?

more active lifestyle, not overeating in general
They dont eat as much meat
Probably due to genetics
Lots of exercise +
Better overall diets +
Smaller portions +
Higher quality food
I’ve been following Jack Kruse’s line of thinking on this, which is that a heavy seafood/seaweed diet combined with sunlight has a lot to do with it.
Because seed oils isn't the problem. Thats just one of those things that pop up on the internet and people get exited to have an opinion about.
The horrible processed food there is in the world (America in particular) that contains a lot of oils and sugar is on the other hand a huge driver for obesity.
Calories in vs. calories out is all that matters.
You can still see the sugar/carb bloat on people's skin. Beer belly old men are also common, but since obesity is not favorable, most of them dont flaunt their flaps around.
Most fat dudes just stay home / in the office.
And white rice is much less processed than refined corn starch and high fructose corn syrup. Japanese also values low processed food and probiotics.
more meals per day but smaller portions, i think
maybe healthy metabolism in general as well
and less of whatever might affect that negatively, or the other way around
just guessing here
ふくよかな人は部屋から出ないからね。
Probably they stop eating when they're full, unlike Americans.
No, they actually stop at 80%. They even have an expression for that (腹八分目 "hara hachibun me").
They don’t cheat to get ahead when the economy is not good enough. Also suicide is legal.
From my experience … the portions
My guess? Walking. Lots of it.
Because fat people are sumo fighters in japan. Royalties.
Can’t be having royalties walking the streets. Then everyone would wanna get fat like americans
1. Genetics
2. Significantly less overeating
3. Significantly more social pressure against being fat and against overeating, especially on women
4. Less driving and fewer escalators
5. More green tea and fish
Totally different diet based mostly on veggies and seafood, zero milk, very little meat, culture of healthy lifestyle, and doing sports.
Japan has a very large per person meat consumption.
Not compared to other developed countries:

Portion size
"...walking through the city..."
japanese work ethic makes even socialist heroic work look like laziness.
They barely eat lol
with many asians, it’s considered the good and decent thing to stay healthy for both you and your family. and, if your loved one is getting too fat, you actually just express your concern for their health. also, asians are true foodies. and shitcoin food is just known for what it is, so it’s not consumed in large quantities; since again, it’s good to take care of one’s health. then there’s the walkable living conditions on top of all these other things too, of course.
oh, but also, EACH & EVERY SINGLE asian person, EVERY girl & EVERY boy becomes a triple vanta black belt in kung fu by age four.
it’s easier to kick ass, if you’re slim.
In addition to DeGoogle, we all need DeMcDonald's.
They have rice with everything unlike in the west where we put wheat in almost every product. I lost a lot of weight in Japan for this reason came back started putting it back on then eventually stopped eating wheat and lost it all again.
Because these three things you've listed aren't all bad. It's not as black and white as that.
You've seriously got to stop turning into a seed oil cultist like many bitcoiners. Because essentially you don't have to eliminate them with a higher omega 3 intake. In very basic terms when you're consuming too many "seed oils" which are just omega 6's you whack the cell out of balance (FYI you NEED omega 6's). Consume more omega 3's to push out the omega 6's and you'll see lipid levels improve drastically.
Have fun living with constant inflamation. I'm never eating that shit (seed oils) again.
Thanks for your comment. This is an area I'm qualified in answering if you care to learn more. You do realise we need a certain amount of inflammation right? I'm happy to explain further if you don't understand the point I made in the previous post. Whilst we should limit oxidised omega 6's as we get way too much of them you aren't actually gaining anything unless you're actively taking sufficient omega 3's. I do regular blood tests and track bio markers. TL;DR I am a qualified DNA practitioner within the sports recovery industry and have consulted for one of the world's leading companies that focuses on inflammation for years now.
Again, happy to help you gain better outlook on thinking that seed oils are the boogie man
One thing to consider is, they eat lots of seafood, which is rich in iodine. Iodine is good for the thyroid. Good thyroid function plays a vital role in metabolism. Low thyroid function = low metabolism. This, combined with other factors mentioned in this thread (more veggies, less wheat, sugar, healthier diet in general) could play a role.
they count calories
there are, but they put them in diapers and make them fight each other.
