Why do so many engineers fail to grasp the difference between building an app, and building money?

#Bitcoin wasn’t built to impress software engineers.

It was built to change the world.

I have not yet listened to that pod, so speaking out of assumptions

As an engineer by training, I’d say we should be even MORE so prepared to understand Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the reference system (x0, y0, z0), to which any other expression of value will refer

Additionally, understanding Bitcoin provides an answer to a question that defies basic logic: why working in financial services (basically allocating other people’s money into companies without creating value per se) pays better salaries than working as an engineer (designing and building systems that did not exist previously and that actually do something)

you cannot build anything on top of BTC, it is slow, expensive, and unreliable

it has been hijacked by bankers to make it useless in real life

you need to look into Bitcoin Cash it is the real Bitcoin with already a thriving DeFi ecosystem
