Why would it need a post history? Unless clients use some kind of ranking system like member.cash was using then most clients wouldnt filter it out. Even still were so early it wouldn't be hard to build out some quality engagement using a gpt based set of pubkeys to game with if that leads you to trending where you could have more economic gain from zaps.

If it becomes that much of a signal indicator, the miniscule cost of a few sats in routing is a small cost to pay to boost a note.

If you zap yourself we'd see it. You'd have to do it from an alt. If it's an account that is new or old or looks spammy, that would also be an indicator.

If you're interested in gaming zaps for attention, the only cost is the LN transaction fees & any costs associated with setting up & running the bots.
The zaps would all end up in your wallet & could be recycled with little cost.

Zaps are a good indicator for the near future but over time they may be gamed, at least to a degree, by those who are determined to game them. Perhaps at some risk, but if there is enough incentive then technical obstacles can be overcome.
Once we have lists we are in charge over crafting our own algorithms. Nothing needs to be sorted by likes or zaps and such algorithms will typically re-inforce the initial publicity.
Algorithms will favor interests of advertisers over time since there will always be sly roundabout ways of introducing changes that can be monetized.
Personal lists based on preferences is the opt-out of algorithms. Quality content will generally be found and shared into lists.
But there's no linkage to show how many zaps a particular note has
and lightning doesn't provide the transparency (which is a good thing)
