Imagine having to publicly beg for free speech you already have
And I continue to laugh at the ignorance. The Chinese I engage with daily know that they operate with aggressive self censorship and act accordingly. They know and comply with the local rules of engagement. They are fine with this lot in life.
Meanwhile, they laugh at Americans who operate under the fallacy that somehow the very same doesn’t apply. Americans remain deluded that, somehow, there is freedom of speech. I see this all firsthand as an American living in Shanghai.
Can’t be caught making their advertisers uncomfortable in the name of free speech.

Agreed. An amendment to protect the freedom to privately transact would be a buffer. It’s needed as we go digital and cash use becomes constricted. The 2A protects the 1A, but the new A would protect the 1A well before the 1A needed the 2A to rescue it.
