A possible inroad for your Statist friends and family is to question the TSA. Nobody likes the TSA. Ask them why airport security screening *has* to be a government agency instead of it being run by the airport or contracted through a security firm.

- What about it being government run makes it better?

- What are the State’s incentives?

- How does their lack of real cost affect the quality of the services?

You can transition into telling them that there are already more private police/security than there are government police. If you’re daring after that, you can try private courts and prisons.

I’ve done this exactly & it did seem to plant a seed. I suggested the airlines themselves provide their own security.

Some would have great security, others very little, it’s each individual’s choice.

No matter the original intent, the modern day TSA is an entrenched jobs welfare program. If I am feeling antagonistic, I’ll debate that it serves as a mass humiliation ritual … one of the only ones the population will go along with.

You've never left the country have you😕?

eBay and PayPay’s dispute resolution system handles 3x as many cases as the whole US legal system per year. 60 million disagreements a year.

90% of these settle completely online and without human intervention.

Great example

I argued with a friend about how it would be better for to roads to be built by businesses. He said there’s no way that would work because we need the government to ensure high standards and safety. That came out of the mouth of someone who did not take the vaccine and does not trust agencies like the FDA. He also claims to have read economics in one lesson but I don’t believe him and told him he’s full of shit. That book just sits on his shelf lol idk man

You’d have to ask why it works to keep high standards and safety for roads, but not for other things. Socratic method

He’s a lost cause
