I like the idea of a user being able to choose what brands can have ads on their videos. It can serve as another way for people to enact social change or exercise their freedom of speech. If I find the practices of a company to be unethical, then I don’t have to play a role in generating business for them. If enough people follow suit, then it starts to impact their bottom line, sending a clear message. It could potentially have a bigger impact than a traditional boycott because it would limit a company’s ability to gain new customers.
