That's a chestnut tree. I wonder if it could be an american chestnut?

Is it in someone's yard or in a park? Does the branching form look more like a tall main trunk or more low wide branching form?

Sweet chestnut. Excellent for 🐝. Good lumber quality. Fruit/nut high on carbohydrate. Eatable - but may be best used as feed for 🐷?

The tree is suitable for coppicing or pollarding.
