5 people just forced a very controversial software change onto 90k node runners and millions of regular users, and you’re still very bullish on Bitcoin?

Make it make sense.

Still 88% of the nodes run Core. It’s a de facto Bitcoin.

You can just not update... You said it yourself in your bio, you're not a dev.

This kinda retarded logic gets you muted. 👋

still bullish, and i dont plan to use Core going forward. between fixing datacarrier or removing it, they chose the latter with weak justification

despite the 'risks' declared by Core contributors regarding running nodes manually patched to expand datacarrier, i think those risks are imaginary after running them for over 19 months. my node still validates blocks just fine and i find no need to join the new/updating nodes relaying OP_Returns using the uncapped limit as unconfirmed transactions to my peers.

I am bullish, because I think over the next months bitcoin core will lose its near dominant position among bitcoin client implementations. And that's something very good and healthy.

If the node runners do not react to this hostility in numbers, the outlook for bitcoin is dire though.

Thats the reason we run Knots, isnt it ? The bitcoin immune system needs to react now, and that are the plebs that run nodes. At the current rate of growth of knots ndoes it should sort itself out eventually.

I hope you’re right for the sake of all of us.

pleb running knots checking in

Thank you!

I hope so to. If those commie, woke, soy maintainers manage to destroy bitcoin ... How could that even have happenend in the first place, that they are in charge? You could look at them and instantly know they are not fit to have this responsibility. I mean this is really on us, that we where distracted by number go up ,while the stewards of bitcoin where co-opted.

The things we can do are AFAIK:

- Speak out and educate

- Dont update Bitcoin Core or change to an alternative like Knots

- Validate our own TX and Coldstorage

- Pleb mine our own block templates based on our nodes mempool policy

No one can force a software change on node runners

They can’t in theory, they can in practice
