Clients could let us disregard them as a toggle switch. I mean sorry anon-zappers but it was bound to be abused, clients only accounting non-anon zaps as an option is fair
I don’t mind the use of them for privacy. That’s why they exist I think. But anon zaps and zapper bots shouldn’t be counted in any algorithmic/trending feeds.
I don't know who it is but he was one of the 1st to be nice to me & I often see him welcoming newbs, helping with wallet setup & zapping them 🤷♀️
Same, the posts I’ve seen appear pleasant/helpful. It’s just disappoint to see people get wrapped up in the need to game an algorithm for attention. People can do what they want, and if that’s what he wants then it’s his prerogative. What exactly are "trending" posts anyway? How do you define trending? Likes per second for the last 24 hours? That plus maybe sats zapped/day?
It may well be he is doing the work to get people to put him in that position. Your irritation may actually be caused by the stupidity of people or the fact that you don't get that amount of value from it. The photo is nice though.
There's no second guessing what the market says. I'd say only if the definition of trending was unfair there is a problem. Is the source code of the site available to read?

You can guarantee that not only will some of the apps curate content manually, but that eventually the big social media will be doing that too.
The freedom of Nostr is going to be purely about people writing good algorithms and putting the parameters for controlling them in the hands of the user. Otherwise, it will be a mass of invisible, unseen posts that never get seen.
