Correct. And they are not replaceable (relays don't delete previous versions). They are all available to be rendered in sequence if the Client wants to show the history of edits.
MY UNDERSTANDING OF EDITS IN AMETHYST IS THAT THEY ARE NEW EVENTS.
SO ON RELAYS AND CLIENTS (THAT SUPPORT EDIT EVENTS) YOU WILL SEE MULTIPLE EVENTS AND EACH CAN BE VERIFIED INDEPENDENTLY.

Edits on Amethyst are new events they are all stored and can be seen in sequence to the original by tapping on "Edited"
