Snort lets you do that now, I’m sure this is being considered. #[2] was not a fan of relying on just one image hosting service by default.
My vision is for content hosting to be treated like relays, have a standard anyone can align to, and add/delete at will.
You want to pay for and host host your own top secret stuff, go for it.

That would be great. Can see some relays ending up like the old newspaper dispensers as well for access to articles and other special things. will be like the 80/90’s but in cyberspace!
