If you leave your daughter home alone with a man you know is a rapist and rapes her, you are guilty and responsible for what happens to her.

If you leave your family at home with a psychopath who you know has committed serial murders, you are guilty and responsible for what happens to them.

Why shouldn't you be guilty and responsible for having your own money stolen if you leave it in the hands of professional thieves who you know are thieves?

Well, you can put some of the blame on voters, but not all.

Elections mostly are a theatre to make the system appear somewhat more legit to the naïve.

There are power structures/networks that are more important, for what the outcomes of the political process are, than elections.
