No, the filter does not write to any private relays! It also doesn’t read from nostr.wine but we may change that eventually.

Yes! If you don’t add the broadcast parameter it defaults to false and will be a read-only relay.

There’s no difference between nostrplebs and nostrpurple at the moment—as far as I know. I think Derek and the team are working on new features, though

Everyone should try this at least for a few hours. Lightning fast and great for content discovery in global.

Sign up to some paid relays, remove your public ones, and use filter.nostr.wine to fill in missing posts/replies/dms with optional broadcasting to public relays!

Yes it does. A few clients drop things you add after / to relay connections, but Damus works perfectly.

It absolutely does as filter.nostr.wine only broadcasts to public relays by default.

Yes as long as #[2] is your pubkey that is correct. Snort will not accept anything after the / unfortunately.

As long as the part after / is your NPUB**

Only thing of seems is profile names not loading. For instance instead of Amazon, it would have your Npub. Other than that, I think my follower roller count decreased but not sure who was lost and if that’s just the common issue of relays going of line from time to time. I know there’s a lot going on and everything is changing fast. Thanks for all the work you and your team are putting in. 💜🤙🏻

Understood. We are still fishing for data to backfill profiles that are missing. Our coverage will improve over time

Snort.social relay is back up so we have re-enabled broadcasting to that relay for filter.nostr.wine if using ?broadcast=true

Completely fixes global feed to you can still connect with new people but almost no spam or bots, super simple too!

And you have broadcast enabled so you’re also posting to relay.damus.io, nos.lol, and relay.current.fyi.

We had brb.io in there but was failing constantly, will add back when more stable. We also supported snort but currently having issues with them. Will keep adding more public relays to broadcaster.

Really liking the filter.nostr.wine relay! Seem to be able to see more pleb posts without a lot of spam and got some followers back. Recommend anyone who only uses paid relays check it out!

Access to our paid nostr.wine relay is currently 8888 sats.

With paid access to the main relay, you also get access to filter.nostr.wine. This relay uses your web of contacts (follows+their follows) to filter your global feed requests from several large paid relays. It can also optionally broadcast your posts back out to those public relays. That allows you to remove them from your relay list and still have good coverage of notes without (as much) spam.

I don’t want to dictate how people use it, but yes that is an option. We aggregate content from more public relays than we broadcast to.
