I have heard a lot of discussion about cultural marxism over the years.

If what I have heard is correct I see it everywhere, but I would like to understand the origin of that concept.

Does anyone know if or where Marx wrote about any of the following:

Family destruction

Cultural demoralization

Intentionally spreading mass confusion

Family destruction was included in the first draft of the Communist Manifesto, Engels took it out.

Marx isn’t required for cultural Marxism. Look at Horkheimer & Adorno.

Cultural demoralization wouldn’t be called cultural demoralization, it would be called something positive. See In the First Circle by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn for the effects of numerous “positives”.

One aspect of “intentionally spreading mass confusion” was assuming that all that didn’t agree with Communism were under the fog of “false consciousness”. That and the Soviet Union not allowing publication of maps of the country.

Thanks I will take a look at those authors you mentioned.

I'd like to be able to confirm that first part you mentioned regarding Engel's with data. Do you know where I might be able to confirm that?

I'm working on bringing a leftist friend over the void at the moment.

He cares about deeply family values (because he's sane), but was trained in college (of course) to bash capitalism.

I think I read it Thomas Sowell.

IIRC, the idea was to remove children from their parents and have the state indoctrinate them.
