Zap this post with 40 sats if you would pay 40 sats per day to use snort relay

If 1k people zap then it's doable

Why daily instead of monthly?

Yea I don't like daily either

Isn’t 1k = 10% or daily active users? That’s a big % to get.

Snort has 40k uniques per day?

I don’t believe it!

If you trust CF then its real

That seems to be visitors though.. not active users?

Well I access on both my laptop and phone during the day, so those numbers could be a little high.

Nostr.band shows about 12k daily high quality pub key writing events. How is it that snort has 40k?

Writing events maybe, we're talking about paying to read here basically

I think a regular visitor is not going to pay anything if they are not an active nostr user themselves

You might get 1% of active users IF that… so like 120 people 😆

The load is generated by reading though so it doesn't make sense to charge to write events

Pay-to-read makes more sense

Yes but what I mean is that a casual visitor is not going to fork over money, yet alone sats. They probably don’t even know what that is.

Yea probably there will be some free quota and then you need to pay, or simply ask somebody to pay for your days usage. 40 sats is not much

I guess it would be crappy though if you're using a gossip model though and you're connecting to like 30 relays and they all want a payment

if you use #[0] and don't zap this... well then I guess you don't want to see sustainable development and prefer to be the product 🐑

#[1]

tried

getting error on your zap

That’s a weird ratio you’re looking for. Why not 100 people at 400 Sats or any other combo?

1K is a bloody big number of paid relay users to pull in

Napkin math, ofc the cost will need to be higher if not enough people pay, the cost to run the relay is 40k sats/day

Getting the pricepoint right matters if you want it funded.

You’re much more likely to find 100 Users willing to part with 12000 Sats per month (a daily sub is going to cost you more time in admin than it’s worth) than 1000 willing to spend 1200.

$3 per month is certainly doable. Trying to get 30 cents per month across 10X more users I’d be very sceptical of.
