I like chamomile and black tea. Any herbal tea with honey is good.
My British friend got me some Yorkshire Tea because it's 'proper English tea'. I drink it because Boston Harbor is awfully far away.
I buy from Adagio. Depends on what you like or are interested in. I drink matcha, white and green tea, and different black teas.
Would highly recommend their earl greys, especially "moonlight" 🌙
I buy loose leaf and make it in a pot, but they do have bags. They are nice bags but you get way more value buying in bulk. I still have tea from 10 years ago that still hold true 😁
If you want to avoid caffeine, go herbal or rooibos. A little bit of caffeine is in green and white teas, and (I’ve read) also decaf black teas.
Black teas (lots of caffeine) are my preference, and it’s up to whether or not you want a flavor. English Breakfast is a good basic black tea. Earl Grey will always have bergamot and that’s a distinctive flavor.
Then, depending on the brand, flavors can be added like nut (chestnut, almond, etc) or butterscotch or berries.
For black tea, you’ll also see labels like Ceylon, Assam, Darjeeling - I’m not enough of a connoisseur to differentiate between those; I just buy what I like the taste of.
Also, if you are eating while drinking tea, the tea can affect how you perceive the flavors. I like dark chocolate (Ghirardelli 86%). Some black teas make the chocolate taste amazing. Some black teas make the chocolate taste drier than baking chocolate. It’s a bit of trial and error.
Good luck! 🫖 #tea #teastr
For loose tea, what strainers do you all recommend? Not silicone or plastic I’m guessing…but there’s a lot of sketchy metal ones on Amazon.
The metal ones are fine and common, but avoid the mesh balls. They don't allow the tea to expand completely in a lot of cases.
I found a pot like this some years ago and it's always served me well:

There is a lipton lemon tea. Very morish!
I personally enjoy:
Uncle Matt's Organic Half & Half Black Tea Lemonade
Liquid Death Green Guillotine
But they are kind of expensive. There's some good teas at Trader Joe's if you have that option as well.
