The #nostr criticisms I see from some Bitcoiners are quite ironic:

“nostr needs to be more user friendly!”

“it’s too confusing to get started!”

“it’s clunky!”

“it’s just hopium!”

Bruh, you sound like every #Bitcoin critic… Good things take time.

It’s an open protocol; if you don’t like something, stop complaining and build something better.

Cheers to the builders 🍻

zaps to the builders! 🍻⚡️

I cannot imagine not being able to see the beauty of this rn

Here’s to the Devs and content creators….🥃

Should we crowdsource some Nostr tips for beginners to help them onboard?

They are right in that at first it is confusing.

There are honestly a ton of great resources out there, with more created every day.

I wrote a couple guides for #[3] and linked to a bunch of other resources, like the one #[4] put together.

I’ll probably do another guide sometime soon when I have time.

I think a lot of folks are truly just lazy. How hard is it to download #[5] or Amethyst or use #[6] or #[7]? Not hard at all…

Some people need to feel a little centralized social media pain to give them the push they need, just like some need fiat system pain to finally learn about #Bitcoin 🤷‍♂️

Well done. I will check those out. Twitter is already feeling a bit stale. I think people will cave eventually. A lil FOMO and peer pressure goes a long way 😏

Same complaints I heard about Bitcoin in 2011/2012

🎯

I got lost trying to buy bitcoin in 2012 and gave up 😭 i made sure i didnt make that mistake again with Nostr

In 1 month Nostr is a completely different beast.

A year from now people won’t even remember social media before Nostr.

The fear of the unknown is powerful

Cheers to the builders indeed!

Bitcoin, Nostr, Lightning, Liquid and countless more! Would be fantastic to get all these usernames on Nostr in a note somewhere... these are the people that should be zapped on a three second basis hahah.

Thank you builders 🙏 We wouldn't be here without you and we wouldn't also have hope without you. 🧡💜❤️

I have discovered the opposite. The perceived value of an outcome increases with the amount of effort invested. Therefore, I perceive #nostr valuable. I have to put a lot of effort in it to use it.

I complained back in November or December about it being clunky, and in a matter of weeks it was a completely different thing. Its amazing how fast eveything is moving

100%

Well said! Cheers to them! 🍻

💯 Sadly people are complaining with a narrative that Nostr clients are just replicating Twitter and they lack creativity.

Even if that were the case.., complaining without providing alternate ideas or better still solutions serve no purpose nor adds value.

Was thinking the same. Such weak FUD

Honestly the criticisms are pretty fuckin' ridiculous. How in the world did some of these people even become Bitcoiners in the first place?

Hear, hear!

Have you been back to BT?

Fucking crickets chirping and owls hooting and Deater screetching.

Loving the energy here over the last few weeks, with almost daily updates and improvements in the background, and a fun engaging community in the foreground. Also loving the asymmetry that allows plebs like me to converse meaningfully without being suppressed by the feudal algorithm (know they place, peasant pleb).

Then I remembered feeling this excitement briefly years back with Steemit.

Not sure if that's even still a thing, but there was early micropayment tipping for posts. The workflow had too much friction and I think the communities didn't bring anything like the energy of this bitcoin/lightning/libertarian/foss/value4value intersect. So I'm much more hopeful for nostr.

How do you define a pleb?

High time preference, unintuitive people. I started buying bitty at $1,500 in 2017, bitch. I gots intuition. This place is 1000x more exciting than Craigslist when it first started, and for the same reason: people to people power.

Great job. I found it simple and plain. Let's keep building together.
