Yo Odell do you know where utxo has been? Hope the feds didn’t get him
Hopefully he’s alright. Something like a warrant canary for nostr profiles would be nice lol
he is great, just taking a break from social
Very cool. Wish my old iPhone 5 worked
Very dope.
Would be cool, as a flashable firmware to guarantee no wifi or cell signal.
could install it on a fresh graphene device
Graphene is not for all old androids. lineageos is compatible with almost everything https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/
I like LineageOS, but it's also much less secure than Graphene
I'm (reluctantly) getting another phone after getting fed up with the data loss I incurred on the Pixel and giving it to my younger brother, on top of dealing with shitty refurbs that are NOT from Swappa or Backmarket; after this phone, I'm not getting another for the next two years and will hopefully not lose as much data this go around.
It's a moto edge+ (2023), and with how notorious Lenovo-owned Motorola are with updates, the moment security patches stop flowing in, Lineage will drop in and carry on.
Wonder how dumb it would be on a separate graphene profile
Actually doesn't seem that stupid:
Android's user profiles are isolated workspaces with their own instances of apps, app data and profile data (contacts, media store, home directory, etc.). Apps can't see the apps in other user profiles and can only communicate with apps within the same user profile (with mutual consent with the other app). Each user profile has their own encryption keys based on their lock method. They're a great fit for GrapheneOS with a lot of room for improvement.
GrapheneOS provides improvements to user profile functionality and is working on further improvements to make switching between them and monitoring other profiles much more convenient.
You may be interested in Private Spaces, which are, in a nutshell, user profiles nested into the main user or another secondary user which can be used without switching. You lock / unlock as you need it.

Seems like insular
This is an app that uses Work Profiles for the same thing, a Private Space provides that environment without needing an extra application to do it. It's an OS feature and works better.
You can have a User, Private Space and a Work Profile at the same time.
Hell yes!
Yes, but it seems you can't block internet access......
User profiles like Private Spaces have their own VPN configuration, files, and their own credentials if you want that. In this example my Private Space runs a different VPN and a different instance of Molly (Signal) from a separate burner number not on my device. You could use it for Wallets, for using Tor, I2P, whatever you want. Realistically people use it to put Play Services and apps that use it in it when they don't want to put it in Owner.
GrapheneOS provides some improvements to it. You can have Private Spaces on secondary users, not just Owner. You can also toggle clipboard sharing including import/export control. You can also make it "End Session" on lock, which puts the profile at rest and securely powers it down.
Interesting, as GrapheneOs user i use shelter app to have work and personal "private Spaces" also in my Owner profile. Is that similar from tech point of view?
What these apps do Private Space does and better. You don't need to install a third party app either.
I am sure about it. The only good thing as user is that you don't have to switch to a second user every time. But i am sure grapheneos does it better!
Private Spaces are the exact same UX wise as work profiles. You just access the space at the bottom of the app list rather than a tab at the top of it.
How do I activate private spaces?
Settings app -> Security and Privacy -> Private Space
If on other Android OSes it may be elsewhere. Search "Private Space" in settings.
Nothing new here. Samourai Wallet has this concept with Sentinel since ages, Monerujo with Sidekicks and Anonero as well.
This is such a smart and practical idea! Using an old device as an offline signer boosts security and makes digital life way simpler.
Does it have silent payments?
